Note on opening hours
Our opening hours are posted below – please check before calling in at Mountainfeet as they do vary due to staff trips. We may close early or open late on certain days and that information will always be posted here. Similarly, if closed for any periods due to holidays, that information will be provided here too.

Mountainfeet will open at 1pm on Tuesday as Si is attending a funeral. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Usual opening hours are:
Tuesday to Friday 10.00am to 5:30pm with late night opening on Thursday till 7:30pm.

Fitting appointments on Thursday nights are available – please see appointment booking page.

Further weekday evening footwear fittings may be available by appointment – just ring Si to request your preferred date.

For a calendar view of Si's daily schedule please view the appointment booking page – it helps when planning a visit to the shop even when a full scale fitting appointment isn't needed. Visitors are welcome for a chat and a brew out of appointment times!

Dear valued customers and friends,

Because Mountainfeet is a small, very specialist business, it relies on individual expertise and experience from myself and a high level of fitting, medical and biomechanical knowledge. Covering holidays, illness or training courses with temporary staff just isn't practical so I'd ask that you check back here on this page or ring before visiting to avoid disappointment if the shop is closed for one reason or another. Having this flexibility is the ONLY way a facility of this quality can be viable. Please bear in mind that customers receive a great deal of extra feedback and attention during a fitting that is not charged for and can be extremely enlightening. I am passionate about footwear fitting and the wellbeing of our customers – to keep it running that way we need a degree of understanding from those who use and value the service.

Many thanks,

Si Taylor, Owner of Mountainfeet

It's pretty much vital these days to book an appointment if you can. This gives you priority on busy days and allows Si to give you his full attention.

Walking and rambling groups are welcome to contact Si about arranging talks regarding foot health and the merits of consulting experts when fitting outdoor footwear. The shop can accommodate small groups of up to fifteen for on site lectures and has strong links with several podiatry professionals.
